Trained primary and secondary teacher. Taught in country Victoria (Horsham, Kyabram) and Melbourne (Hawthorn, Albert Park, Geelong, Sunshine west).
Secondary school Principal for many years (Horsham, Kyabram, Sunshine West). Loved teaching, sees education as the way to make most impact on the kinds of opportunities young people have in life. Most interested in exploring in practical ways how and what kinds of values we offer to young people.

Currently Coordinator of Brigidine Secondary Schools Council, a structure established to assist a group of seven schools (owned and administered by the Brigidine Sisters) to do future planning, develop leadership, share curriculum initiatives, set up new governance structures etc. In this role work a lot with school Principals, supporting them in a variety of ways. Sometimes this is with particular cases involving students, sometimes it is support in more general planning issues. Most interested in discussions and dialogue involving the ways education should/can challenge some of the consumerist and individualistic aspects of aspects of our society.
Also, Coordinator of the Brigidine Asylum Seekers' Project which takes various initiatives to assist refugees and asylum seekers. This project supports some asylum seekers who are on Bridging visas who cannot work and who do not receive any assistance whatsoever from the government. Visits the Maribyrnong Detention Centre and tries to assist those detained in practical ways (with tobacco, food, phone cards etc.)
